Learning About The Marvel Action Figures

Every young man who grew up during the 70's will more than likely have some small male dolls in their attic. Many of these statues were called marvel action figures and they are great to look at. A man named Stan Lee took the time to create all of these good characters which are well known throughout the entire world. During Halloween many young children will dress up like these characters while they are hunting for candy and other goods.

Years ago it was very unlikely that comic books would feature a female with great strength and power. Everyone knew about the DC creation named Wonder Woman but they had never heard about the "Invisible Girl." As time went on this particular female has become quite popular and she is well loved by everyone. A toy group called Mego was brave enough to produce a doll which looked exactly like the Invisible Girl.

Unfortunately Mego was the only company who could advertise her doll correctly. Other toy industries fail to capture her unique beauty and personality. These same companies enjoy using the same face for all of their female dolls since they do not like to create new head sculpts. The popular company named Mattel simply took a Barbie doll and dressed her in a Fantastic Four costume.

Luckily fans everywhere can now watch "Iron Man" in a live action movie which was created in Hollywood. These same fans may also have their very own Iron Man doll that was produced in the 70's by Mego. Even though the Mego creation of Iron Man is not that great he is still a collector's dream.

Later on Toy Biz did their best to please fans by making a Tony Stark statue which came with an Iron Man mask. Fans were now able to display the doll as the famous millionaire and the super hero. Unfortunately this particular doll was quite bulky and people had trouble standing him up straight.

Toy Biz was quick to produce an image which looked like "Mr. Fantastic" but it also failed to meet the Mego standards. Many people are familiar with the story of the famous "Fantastic Four" group. They were four individuals who went into outer space and came back with great powers. Mr. Fantastic is named Reed Richards and his wife is the Invisible Girl.

Sales really went through the roof when Mego was smart enough to market their products within a television advertisement. This company also took the time to show their super hero collection in every comic book that was sold at the local book stores. They also displayed DC characters in many of these commercials.

Stan Lee was quite disappointed when the movie "Thor" came out several years ago. The producers failed to include the super hero's alter ego who was named Dr. Donald Blake. Fortunately many fans from the past remember Dr. Blake and they were glad when Mego produced a Thor doll. He is one of the most expensive Mego products on the market.
